FEE ARRANGEMENTS

At HOLMES PITTMAN & HARAGUCHI, we understand the need for quality, cost-effective legal representation. We understand most lawyers seem to have completely lost track of how expensive they have become. We are very sensitive to this issue and committed to finding a creative, reasonable solution that works for you. 

HOURLY RATES

Our attorneys and staff most often work on an hourly charge basis. The firm’s rates are $350 per hour for partners, and $100 per hour for paralegals. We find that these rates are at least one-half or less of what large, Washington, DC downtown firms are charging for the same high-quality personnel and work. For some small businesses and individuals, we are willing to initially reduce our partners' rates in order to get a project moving.

ALTERNATIVE FEE ARRANGEMENTS

Our firm further sets itself apart by offering clients detailed, firm estimates for performing specific tasks and litigation efforts. If circumstances warrant and the client wishes, the firm can also provide fixed fee prices for conducting many legal tasks.

We will also do work on a contingency fee basis and hybrid low-hourly plus contingency plans in appropriate circumstances.

LOW OVERHEAD EQUALS LOWER LEGAL FEES

We operate out of our main operations center for computers, research, and files out of Stevensville, MD and receive clients in an economical Washington, DC workspace in the NE area near Union Station. These modest but large office spaces allow the firm to significantly reduce overhead costs and therefore lessen charges for services rendered to clients. We have found this arrangement to be attractive to both large and small business corporations. We are not on Pennsylvania Avenue or K Street, but we are on the subway line.
